  • I am a Baraka Institute-Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) trained in the art and science of life coaching. In combination with Recovery (Alanon) tools & concepts (as applicable), I emphasize a holistic, creative and balanced approach to the coaching process, helping my clients move from perplexity to clarity
  • My clients are typically women ranging in age from their 20's to their 40's who are ready to transform their lives and make meaningful, significant changes with the consistent support and objective, compassionate encouragement, reflection and feedback of a trusted and qualified Certified Professional Life Coach.
  • I am based in Portland, OR, and offer live face-to-face coaching, but can coach anyone anywhere in the U.S. via Skype or phone.

Topics commonly explored with your Life Coach may include
  • Relationship to Food Issues Are you an emotional eater? Do you eat unconsciously--in the car, at your desk, when something is offered, because you’re bored or sad, because it looks good or smells good, because it’s free, or because you paid for it? In short, do you eat for every reason other than your body is physically hungry? If dieting worked, these issues would be resolved permanently—but diets don't work! I use a mindfulness-based approach to resolving relationship to food issues using a variety of resources, including the pioneering works of Evelyn Tribole, M.S., R.D. & Elyse Resch, M.S., R.D., authors of Intuitive Eating: A Recovery Book for the Chronic Dieter that will enable you to stop the roller-coaster cycle of dieting/overeating and return the focus of your hunger to your BODY—where it naturally belongs.
  • Recovery/12-Step Issues  The Life Coaching process is very complimentary to 12-Step/Recovery (such as Al-Anon and ACA/Adult Child or other 12-Step groups) and I have often found that my clients benefit from combining 12-Step Recovery work with one-on-one coaching; while not required, our limiting beliefs (negative thought patterns that may keep us from moving forward) are more effectively identified/resolved and the coaching objectives may be met with greater success when 12-Step/Recovery tools are regularly incorporated in the process.
  • Fine & Performing Arts/Creativity  Have you largely defined yourself by your artistic "label" or pursuit and desire a shift to something new—but you're unsure of what steps to take? Or perhaps you consistently back-burner as “hobbies” your creative outlets in favor of other commitments, such as work, family and community? Life Coaching will strengthen your commitment to your creative self-expression by re-balancing your life in a way that allows enough space & flexibility to honor all your passions, or if you so desire, will enable you to begin taking the steps towards a new or complimentary career/identity.
  • Life Transitions  When something familiar shifts—a job or relationship comes to an end, we move, or we lose a loved one—we lose that which has helped define and shape our identities and we find ourselves in the midst of an often confusing transition (explored at great length in numerous William Bridges books such as Transitions and The Way of Transition). Life Coaching helps you make sense of your life's many transitions by helping you clarify your next steps and establish a wonderful, rewarding new stage in your life.
  • Self-esteem/Positive Self-Image & Assertiveness Do you internally recite an endless loop of negative self-talk that keeps you from fully experiencing your life because you’re “too shy, not pretty/smart enough, too fat/too thin,” etc.? Life Coaching will help reinforce a positive self-image by empowering you to set healthy & loving boundaries, become your own best advocate by learning to speak up for your needs, take thoughtful, meaningful risks and confidently participate in all aspects of your life.
  • Career Exploration/Satisfaction We may find ourselves languishing in a job or position we don’t particularly like, telling ourselves “at least it’s a paycheck,” and letting our fears stop us from moving into an exciting and challenging new position or career—perhaps one radically different than what we’ve been doing for years, or something we’ve only ever dreamed about. Coaching will enable you to address and release your fears and take significant steps towards manifesting a new, exciting, personally meaningful and satisfying occupation.
